Overview

The Aerpro AIMBT is a hardwired Bluetooth vehicle immobiliser that arms and disarms itself automatically using the included Bluetooth key-tag or a paired smartphone. There is nothing to insert, press or remember when getting in or out of the vehicle: it arms as soon as the key-tag or phone moves out of range, and disarms again when it comes back within range.

It installs at a single immobilisation point, usually the ignition circuit, and its relay is rated at 10A nominal and 20A maximum, so the fuel pump or push-to-start (PTS) wire can be used instead if preferred. All vehicle-side wiring is plain black rather than colour-coded, which makes it hard to tell which wire does what, and it is hardwired into the module with no plugs, so it cannot simply be unplugged to bypass it.

The proximity range can be set across 5 levels from approximately 3 to 15 metres to suit the vehicle and where it is parked. If the key-tag is lost or its battery goes flat and the paired phone is not in range, a valet / emergency override procedure lets the vehicle be started manually. Power-off memory keeps the armed or disarmed status if the vehicle battery is disconnected, so a flat or replaced battery will not reset the system. The AIMBT suits any 12V DC vehicle, including cars, utes, 4WDs, vans and most light commercial vehicles.

Important Information

• Hardwired installation: the immobiliser is wired directly into the vehicle circuit for a permanent fitment, rather than a plug-in module that can be easily found and removed.
• Before first use, remove the plastic tab from the battery inside the key-tag to activate it.
• Warning - keep out of reach of children. The key-tag contains a lithium coin battery, which is hazardous whether new or used. It can cause severe or fatal injury within 2 hours if swallowed or placed in any part of the body. Seek medical attention immediately. Keep batteries out of reach of children.
